NEW TO PRAYER?
For people who have never prayed before, it can be intimidating. But God invites us to come as we are and share whatever is on our heart. You don’t need to be an expert or use any special language. Just speak to God as you would a friend, knowing that He loves you and wants the very best for you.
You may add your prayer request to our prayer wall using the form below. Once your prayer request is received, we will share it according to your instructions. Feel free to submit as many prayer requests as you like!
Those who have been part of the Vineland community for some time will know the Deering family, who moved into the Toronto area
a number of years ago. This morning we received word that Carol Deering was admitted to the palliative
care unit at Sunnybrook Hospital on Friday afternoon. This is in response to her journey with cancer. She is being well
looked after in this setting and the family calls on our community for prayer……..thanks.

In desperate need of prayer for my wife Kim’s salvation and for God to end the relationship between she and the man she had an affair with and to totally heal our marriage

I am working to complete a significant financial transaction that will have a dramatic impact on my family and the Kingdom of God. If this transaction is not completed it will be devastating for my family and the ministries that I have made public commitments to support long-term…including missionaries who have already moved to the field to begin ministry. Please, please pray for favor and a completion of funding. Thank you and God bless!

I would ask that you join me in praying for our staff and others involved in the lives of our friends in our shelter community. Christmas and New Years are difficult on so many and the stress and challenge can be a lot to bear. Our shelter staff meet so many needy people who all need a little love and compassion. They are there representing both Christ and Southridge and it can be a daunting task with little reward, and a lot of stress. Let’s hold them and those they serve with and for up in your prayers so they can be enabled to share Christ’s love even when they feel completely drained. There are so many in our community who need someone to come along side them and encourage them!

Please pray for our son. He was is now 20 years old and was raised attending Southridge since he was 7 . He was recently suffering from mild depression and was seeing a therapist but we believe he may still be suffering. Although he hasn’t abandoned his faith he is making unwise life choices. He is in a relationship with a young lady that has many mental health issues and it has become an unhealthy relationship for our son but he is totally infactuated and unaware how unhealthy it is. He has informed us that he is moving to Alberta in a couple of months to live with her and we are heartbroken and really worried at the same time. Please pray for God to intervene in both their lives, to overcome whatever grip that mental illness may be playing in this situation and that our son’s eyes would be opened and that he would see the relationship and the situation through an unclouded lense. through God’s eye. Also, please pray for us (as his parents) for wisdom from God on how to deal with this on a day-to-day basis and for God’s peace to be upon us as we trust Him in and through this situation. Thank -you

I want to thank everyone who have prayed . I had told my sister Jana the wrong date, it was the 20th when I spoke to the neurologist. The news was very good, the tumour is benign, no CANCER. I am so grateful to my sister Jana, her friends (now my friends too) and to her church (which i have enjoyed attending). Merry Christmas to all, I will truly enjoy this year with my family. Spread the love and kindness.

Please pray for my sister Dora. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer over 4 years ago and now she has been recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. She sees a neurosurgeon Dec 30, 2016 for next steps. She has been through chemo, radiation and numerous surgeries over the past 4 years. This tumour we have been initially told could possibly be benign. We ask for your prayers please, she has been through so much. Thank you for previous prayers and once again thank you.

Happy holidays, Ridge family!! Yesterday I visited the shelter only to learn we have lost another brother in Christ to a seemingly overpowering illness . At this time of year people gather around the tree open presents and enjoy family and Amen to that blessing , unfortunately tooooo many don’t have that opportunity!!! Sure we all want certain presents but we all NEED and CRAVE– LOVE ,ENCOURAGEMENT and HOPE so please take a moment stop look around there is an immeasurable amount of brother s and sisters eagerly awaiting the greatest gift– God’s love and our willingness and responsibility to share it ! God bless all of you this Christmas season

Two families in Vineland request prayer……….
Kim and Joel Leonard found out early Monday morning that Kim’s mom, Sandy Dick had passed away while recuperating from surgery. Sandy was only 59 years old. The news was very unexpected and comes with great sadness. Let’s uphold this family who will miss a wife, mom, and grandmother.
As well, yesterday morning Marilyn Koop, daughter to Peter and Helen Dirksen passed away at the UM Home in Vineland. Marilyn had spent the last number of years in this residence. The Dirksen family will grieve her loss, and celebrate her life, believing that she is finally at peace.
